WHAT ARE DAFTAS

The DAFTAS are international short spoof film awards centered around BAFTA-nominated films. We invite filmmakers from all walks of life to take part in our 2021 edition that will take place online.

We set a task to filmmakers – to write, produce, film, and edit a short spoof film of one of the BAFTA-nominated films.

The films will be selected at random on the day of BAFTA nominations announcement and the awards are judged by established and celebrated filmmakers.

TAKING PART

If you are a filmmaker who is up for a challenge, the first thing you should do is sign up for our mailing list.

Due to Coronavirus restrictions taking hold of most of the globe, the 2021 edition will be held online.

It means that more teams will be able to participate. It also means, we have to change the way we operate. We are tirelessly working on our new terms of participation as you read it. We will drop you a line when we dotted all the ‘i’ and crossed all the ‘t’.

03

HOW CAN I ATTEND

Due to government restrictions for mass gatherings, the 2021 DAFTAS edition will take place in a streaming room and will be hosted by a household-name celebrity.

It means that more people will be able to tune in for the awards ceremony to watch the short films, join the live discussion, celebrate the winners, and be entertained.

The tickets to the online streaming party are FREE for early birds.
